The company was founded in 1971 when Betty and Lou Trad opened Trad's Garden Center on San Jose Boulevard. The Garden Center business was a natural fit for Lou Trad, a graduate of the University of Florida's Agriculture School and also for Betty Trad, a lifelong resident of Jacksonville. Our Garden Center quickly gained a solid reputation among the San Jose community for providing superior knowledge, winning service and healthy, beautiful plants. Responding to the needs of the growing community, Trad's Pest Control was started in 1979 and gained the same solid reputation. Trad's is a full service pest control offering Lawn & Shrub Spraying, Pest Control Service, Termite Control and Protection, and Fumigation. Trad's is Certified by Florida Green Industries. Trad's is certified in Integrated Pest Management for schools and facilities.

Fleas and Ticks are a nuisance, spread serious disease, and have become increasingly problematic for Florida. We will treat the outside and the inside of the home per the customer's request. Control is only gained by treating all the premises and the pet at the same time. Ground Moles

Ground moles eat earthworms, mole crickets, grubs and a variety of insects. The great majority of their diet consists of earthworms. Although many people believe they can be controlled by treating insects; practically, it is not possible to eliminate all the insects in a yard. He was very thorough, listened to any areas of concern (based on experiences w/ a prior company), and we felt he genuinely took pride in the quality of work he did in treating our home. This company does an excellent job with reasonable prices. We shopped around and feel that we are getting exceptional value for what we pay. Erica helped us get set up and she is very patient and kind and very good with customer service. We are working with Rory snd Tom for our services and they are both so knowledgeable and helpful - we wish we would have found them sooner. We are also trying Trad's mosquito service to keep mosquitos away for the summer and so far it is working amazingly! Thank you, Trad's!

We had a possible rat or mouse outside and palmetto bugs inside. Tom came out the very next day and was on time, very respectful and informative. He inspected inside and outside and treated trouble spits as he went. He did not need to schedule a separate appointment for inspection, which was amazing and unlike others we have had in the past. I am very pleased and will recommend and continue to use Trad's.

My technician Bryan is the best. He not only services my lawn but has become a dear friend through the years. This last visit he alerted me to the fact one of my water pipes has burst. I have my lawn serviced by Brandon who arrives on time and informs me of what he will be doing when he arrives. Brandon is very personable and has answers to any questions asked. I also have had a good experience with Erika in office who answers any questions I have to include scheduling. Compared to other lawns companies I have worked with Trad's is the company I would recommend.

Austin was my tech today and he did exceptional. He was quite helpful with all my questions but the kicker was the extra step. Let me explain I have two large dogs(Zeus and Vader) who scatter toys all over my backyard. He took the time to place the toys on the concrete so the toys would not come into contact with the treatments sprayed on my lawn. I'm not sure if this is just the procedure or what but this is the first time I have experienced this and I just want to say thanks Austin. Zeus and Vader say thanks too!

I have used Trad's for years. Today I was home when Thomas came to service my yard. He asked if I had any questions and I did. He explained when I don't need fertilize, when to seed winter rye and said to let Trad's know when I did that (good to know!), and he answered questions about ants. He was very helpful and professional. Super service today! Thanks, Thomas.

Greg arrived to do treatment for ants but then I showed him areas of the lawn that looked as though it had been taken over by chich bugs. He said possibly but also could be a chemical burn.from the previous treatment company I used.that killed another area recently. Greg said he would check nd let me know. He checked nd confirmed it was chinch bug.
He altered his original plan and applied a treatment on the grass also did ant treatment. Then scheduled tech to return tomorrow and treat for the chinch bug. Great service and thankful for the knowledge and help. Start of getting my lawn back. Fingers crossed. Thank you Greg and Trads.

I installed st Augustine sod in my backyard last fall and contacted Trad's for lawn care. They have been servicing every 2 months for sod worms and cinch bug control and I have an irrigation system running. While I think their customer portal and responsiveness is excellent, my yard has deteriorated greatly from March to August (see pictures). When questioned on why this happened I was informed the treatment only lasts a week before they can return.
I have a large investment in my yard that I thought would be protected through this service, but that has severely failed. I would have liked to know the treatment doesn't last after they observed deterioration in my yard quality and recommended a treatment plan to remedy.

Robert performed our first application of scrub fertilization. After a short review of a few areas that were specifically in need, he simply responded with, "No worries, I've got you covered." He then proceeded with a thorough application of fertilizer to the border shrubs around our home. I'm looking forward to positive results after irrigation or rain. John, the manager, had first given a visit with recommendations to strengthen the condition of our aging scrubs.
Just after a short time of consideration, we decided to initiate Trad's shrub treatment program. After years of working by trail & error with our border shrubs, ultimately, we've seen the need to expand our service from Trad's lawn program to include treating our shrubs as well. I'm confident that the benefits the treatment will provide should extend the life and beauty of the border foliage to our home.
