As Operations Manager, Stan is responsible for the day to day supervision of jobs, men and equipment for the firm, including job control, job scheduling and employee performance. He has 30 years of experience in the pest control industry and has worked for Hydrex since 1978. Is said to be one of the best fishermen at the company.

Service Manager
Employed by Hydrex since 1991, as Service Manager, Darrell is responsible for coordinating the daily activities of his service technicians, and is responsible for quality control. He has over 20 years experience in the industry.

We had Hydrex as our yearly service people for termite control for 22 years (1987 to 2010) and paid them almost $1,000 a year to come and check and spray or "control" termite invasion in and outside our home. We were on a canyon and we expected they "knew"? their profession. When it came to sell our home, when we had the inspection for the closing, the inspection by Hydrex for the "wood destroying insects" came back with an estimate for getting rid of insects and repairs at $40,000.00 (Yes, Forty Thousand dollars!).

These were the people who were supposed to protect this home EVERY YEAR WITH A CONTRACT TO DO SO! They HAD to reduce it by $5,000.00 because they "FORGOT" their original contract called for protection from Subterranean termites as well. If you are smart, you will hopefully take this "Opinion" to heart and check out other more competent pest control companies. Absolutely, your choice.

This 5-star review is for Tom from Hydrex who did a great job after another technician did a non-thorough job [but the other guy knocked off a star] We have an annual plan with the company since 2008 or so when we last tented. Unfortunately, the technician (not Tom) assigned to our area changed, and last year they sent a guy who basically waved his hand, said swarms are normal, and then claimed the termites were getting in from outside.

He wasn't thorough in the inspection and only treated the easiest areas. When we had termites falling from our light fixtures, he then said it's normal and we can't get them all, and went on to tell a story about someone's home office with a ton of termites as if it was just the way it is in San Diego. He then wrote up a quote for fumigation.

We called the company back and asked for their best technician to come and give us a second opinion. They sent Tom who didn't talk alot, but was all over the attic, climbing into small crevices and exploring. He sprayed foam on the areas he saw and even took pictures with his phone to show us. This was in October 2021, and I meant to write a review.

So far, we're good and I think he got them. But with this company, what I found out is that you must demand the best technicians. The other guy we got was not experienced (I think 6 months on the job?) and talked more than inspected. I told my neighbor and she also got Tom to inspect and locally treat her house and is happy with the results. Always ask for their best inspectors and don't just take the default.

We love the Tech that Hydrex assigned to us last year, and were very pleased to see him return for our annual inspection in Nov 2021. Not only is Hurvey competent, as have been all of the Hydrex technicians we have dealt with over the years, but Hurvey is very much a "people person." So much fun to be around - such a delightful personality - so easy to get along with. Knowing the company as we do, we expect him to be around for many years to come, and kibitzing with us and doing his job well each time he arrives to "toss the termites." This the first time I have to hire someone for termite inspection since I need the section 1 clearance. If you need someone to do the treatment and do the work to fix the damage, DO NOT hire this company! They quoted almost 10k plus almost 3k for treatment. This company once they know you are in escrow selling your home. They will charge you lots of money.

I made a mistake on hiring them to do the treatment and ended losing almost 3k and I had the other company fix their Hydrex mistake. They poke and add more damage on the structures of my house. Please call somebody else, don't use this company. I will report them to BBB.

How can you call yourself a business! Who takes a customer's information and gives a 2hr window and doesn't call, text or email that you won't be arriving! There are plenty of small business exterminators that I will be reaching out to. Don't waste your time with this company, because they don't mind wasting yours!

My mother in-law has used this company for many years. She recently had a service man out by the name of Kevin Curnick, she can not stop raving about how great this guy was. He was very attentive to her needs and never made her feel like she was bothering him. Due to her language barrier she normally doesn't feel comfortable talking with people but she was so impressed with him that not only did she send a thank you card but wanted to leave a review as well. If you are in need of pest control. Kevin is you guy!

Very unprofessional! Two years ago we had our home treated for termites. They scheduled a warranty renewal termite inspection without us asking for one or confirming that we wanted it. I came home to find a notice on my door that said they stopped by for an inspection and an invoice attached of $330. When I called to inquire and let them know we did not request this service, Michelle transfered me to another lady who was very rude and unprofessional.

When I explained to her why I was calling and that we did not request this service, therefore we would not be paying the invoice balance. She seemed annoyed and said, " didn't we send you a notice in the mail with an appointment for an inspection to continue your warranty". When I said, yes, but they never confirmed with us that we actually wanted this inspection, she just interrupted me and said something like you don't have to pay it and hung up.

She said it so quickly and didn't allow me to respond. She didn't bother explaining anything. So I hope this is resolved and I won't get a bill from them! If she would have given me some kind of customer service, maybe explaining the invoice left at my door and the benefits of a complete termite inspection, I may have reconsidered getting their services again but with her rudeness and unprofessionalism, sadly we will not be requesting their services in the future for anything.

I might also add that I did call back and spoke with Michelle. I let her know how rude the other lady was and that I would be writing this review. She just said, "okay" and did not even try to offer customer service or apologize for any misunderstandings.

Howdy! I wanted to share some feedback. I received a recommendation via NextDoor for Hydrex. I've recently purchased a home and want to have my house tented before we move in. On your website it says "Call Us for a Free Estimate We invite you to call the office nearest you." I also clicked the 'Request a Free estimate" button, filled out the form, but received an error submitting it (There was an error trying to send your message.

Please try again later). I called the San Diego # (ending on 0455). I received the same error when trying to submit this info to the contact form on the Hydrex website. When I explained that I am a new home owner and wanted to get a quote for fumigation, the lady on the phone told me that you guys don't give quotes over the phone and that I should just go with the company that did the termite inspection during the home buying process. I'm trying to be a conscious consumer and I didn't realize shopping around for a fumigation quote was such a big 'no-no' Thanks in advance for any help you can provide.

I have had an inspection and treat by hydrex every year for 5 years. Paid $2000 for Initial treatment Pay $350 every year. Got an inspection done in April and was told everything was fine. Escrow inspection done today and lots of damage found! Why am I paying every year for inspection. This company is a scam. Please don't waste your money. The hydrex escrow insoector( same company) says they put the damage in the report every year, but no one has ever said a word to us. I checked the report from April this year and it was clear

We have maintained a contract with Hydrex for termite control for the past five years and they had a contract for the previous 10 years with the former owner. Every time a tech came out, we were assured that any active termites were being treated. We recently put this home on the market and luckily we had another company come out to perform a fresh termite inspection.

They found termite pellets in an area where Hydrex treated and thinking they were new pellets, the company listed it as active on their report. I contacted Hydrex and found out they don't clean up termite pellets when they treat so there is no way of knowing if the termites are active or not. They also wanted another 90$ to provide a report that they had treated the area. I will be canceling my contract for the two other properties I own.

For those who claim they use Hydrex Termite Control without incident, and therefore are pleased, hang on. Your scam is coming. I used them for years, and even had a few neighbors sign on with them. The cheat they tried with me got them a couple hundred dollars extra, but they also lost other accounts. So along with being far from honest, they are also far from bright. Still extend kudos to my inspector, but his business-office brother falls into the despicable range. Beware, beware, beware.

I needed to get termite issues dealt with prior to upcoming remodeling. My step-father recommended Hydrex, as he has been very pleased with them. Just used them yesterday, but service-wise it was top-notch! Inspector Pepe and tech Victor were both very professional, thorough, and nice to deal with. I didn't really want to deal with the hassles of tenting, so went with the similarly-priced electro-gun method, which was MUCH easier. Still had to leave the house, but it only took about four hours. Victor gave me a courtesy call about 20 minutes before he was all done. Thank you, Hydrex!

Rude, unpleasant customer service from Michelle. After being unable to find a time to reschedule my appointment, I decided to cancel my contract and go elsewhere. At that point, she refused to provide documentation of my request to terminate my contract for pest control. Apparently, I am to trust the word of this patronizing to individual. Definitely not continuing my business with this company!

I just had the pleasure of reading the comment from this individual's supervisor. First off, if she was in fact "standing right next to her", she would know that I never used profanity. Secondly, to defend this shines further light on the numerous one star reviews of late.

Hydrex Fails. Hydrex = Horrible experience. Hydrex outsourced the work and did not take responsibility for extensive roof damage. Hydrex did not have someone immediately come out to inspect. We have a 1 story house with flat roof and they people that did the work did not exercise care and caused about 60 tiles to be damaged. This was verified by my contractor who performed the work. Hydrex did not immediately respond to calls or requests to see the damage until we'llafter my roof work was completed and then tried to say that I am not telling the truth. Hydrex management doesn't care.

Find another pest control company as Hydrex can't be trusted. Here is a copy of the email sent to Hydrex requesting to speak with the management. Hydrex never bothered to respond to my email. DO NOT USE HYDREX "Hello, I would like to speak with the owner regarding the service provided at my 1 story residence with predominantly flat roof and 8-16' wide clay tile mansards.

My residence is located at Tenting was completed last week and I called to request someone come to my residence to look at excessive damage to the tile roof. My contractor estimates 60 tiles broken, although I have not gone up there to inspect. The Service manager I spoke with seem to be only concerned with telling me that I signed a contract and that I'm looking at my tile damage would have no bearing on the outcome of that Hydrex will not be responsible. I need to have the roof repaired and I want to know if Hydrex is going to do something about this. Regards My name"

Our family has used Hydrex at this home for a really long time. We've been fortunate to have Craig specifically as the person that's helped us again and again. Its nice to see a friendly face drive up. It's clear he cares about his work, the people he is working with, and the thoughtful service he provides. Craig is the only face we've ever known of Hydrex and he leaves a great impression. This reflects highly on Hydrex and the character of their service. For us, Hydrex had been an easy and dependable service we can count on!

Andrew has serviced my home on a monthly basis for the past couple of years due to a persistent and stubborn ant problem. He is unfailingly courteous, always asking if any new problems have occurred since his last visit? He always makes sure the dog is in the house - something I appreciate when he treats the area. He arrives when he is scheduled to come. He comes, he sprays, and my ant problems vanish - just like that! Simple.

Hydrex employees told me on multiple occasions that I would only needed to leave my apartment for one hour for an electro gun termite treatment. They show up on the day and tell me I need to leave for 5 hours. This is unacceptable when you have pets, work from home, and have to cancel meetings. It is especially egregious after calling to verify the timing. Hydrex offered no other solutions or places for me to wait. Working with them was a terrible, frustrating experience.

First off the tech Brendan is awesome. My one star is with the people who answer phones and do billing. Money was held by my bank thanks to hydrex yesterday 11/20 and when I asked about it the girl said we don't charge people who haven't had service yet. So I called back the next day 11/21 after the money had come out and she still denied they charged my account.

Ok I have a bank statement. After being put on hold 10 minutes she came back with that charge was for September's service. why am I being charged 2 months after the fact? Especially when I was told both days I had a zero balance. so after I'm told I have a zero balance I'm just supposed to accept I actually didn't have a zero balance? Pure and simple I am no longer a customer.

Long time customer. Our mechanic found some rodent droppings in the engine of our car. since we park our car in our garage this was very worrisome. Bruno from Hydrex did an assessment, found evidence of outside activity, gave advice on possible entry points and deterrents to use. After last year's rains rodent population has greatly increased. We signed up for a Rodent Control Program with Hydrex to prevent getting any rodent nests in or around our home. So happy for their expertise and assistance. Yeah Bruno and Cindy.

Frank came and did our initial inspection, we knew we had termites and needed to try a different way of killing them. Shawn came out and treated them (electrocuted our unwanted bugs!) he was very professional and we will sign up for the service with them, will update review again then. Our friends referred us to them (Sherrill's) and they have used them for many years. We had been tented twice in the five years we have been here and didn't want to move out and have all our vegetation die on us again. Those termites are so persistent!

I am in the process of renovating an inherited property to rent out. For many, many years my relative dutifully paid Hydrex to come out and inspect/treat the infested areas under their policy. Upon peeling back the layers of the onion, so to speak, I find quite an infestation in the rafters, tongue and groove boards and facia boards. In other words, this so-called policy was less than worthless in preventing damage to the property.

My relative was quite elderly, she was unable to take note of any problem areas, and relied on Hydrex to do this for her, and at this they completely failed, but they were quite happy to take the money. I would not recommend them, or their worthless policy, to anyone.

Great job by Gary from Hydrex. Gary comes to the house each year to check for termites and other infestations. He does a thorough job and remembers things from one year to the next and follows up on them. He always reports anything he sees and points out areas of concern. Great job, Gary!

5 years ago we had our home rented prior to moving in. It's always surprising that termites can find their way back in your home the week later. Nobody can help that. We take pride in our home and spend lots of time in the yard taking care of the house and the exterior. No matter how much you care for it those little buggers are gonna eat away at the house, so we had to take care of it again.

We had 3 companies come and give us a bid on the job. One said we needed to rent the place, one didn't see any problems at all, and then we met Pepe (I know, kinda funny, but it's a nickname and it fits!). This guy is as knowledgeable as they come. He quickly found the areas of damage under paint that nobody else found, showed us those area and explained the best treatment, which wasn't tenting, wasn't cheap, but was what was needed, and again wasn't tenting which is quite expensive and puts you out of the house for 3 days. Pepe showed us their non poisonous options to eradicate them critters!

My wife is extremely sensitive to chemicals and scents that shouldn't be in your system. On top of that she's a little OCD, sometimes to the point of nausea when it comes to dealing with this stuff. She does not take these kind of services lightly. Hydrex was absolutely the best value we could have asked for Today we had our service done and we were thrilled with the level of professionalism by the service tech. Booties worn in the house, clear directions about what we needed to do and how we needed to be out for the day, but when we came home everything was as we left it. It's difficult because you pay for things in your home that you don't see, but with the service we had today and the warranty Hydrex offered we're more than satisfied with the work they did to protect our home for years to come.

Thank you to Pepe and his team for taking the best care of our home. We will be referring them to our friends who need this service and highly recommend Hydrex to all of you Yelpers!

ADDITIONAL UPDATE: I just spoke to Theresa Zaludek at Hydrex. She has a plan to make this right. I will know more on Monday. I'll keep you posted. Thank you Theresa for taking the time to listen. Last April, I made a phone call credit card payment for our rodent renewal. I presumed it was taken care of. I didn't really think much of the fact I hadn't gotten a bill this year as my Dad is home with us on hospice and my mind was focused elsewhere. However, within the last few weeks I have been hearing noises of critters in the attic and a slight smell coming from one of our bedrooms.

I called to schedule an appointment. They told me my contract had been cancelled last summer (I had gotten no notice). They suggested we have an inspector come out which we did today. He told us that it would cost us over $900 to reinstate, that they wouldn't honor a renewal price of $200. We can't afford that. We have used Hydrex for over 15 years with inconsistent success (one would think that they would have blockaded entrances effectively).

I am very disappointed in this company's policies. This no way to treat loyal customers. I intend to tell anyone I know of this experience. There are many pest control companies out there to choose from and I will make sure that people I know will be aware that Hydrex shouldn't be one of them.

We just started to have mysterious insects showing up in our garage. I called Hydrex and was quickly directed to Michelle. Michele provided great guidance and set-up an appointment quickly. She recognized that we are a very long term customer for Termite Control and set-up our account and terms quickly. She was very friendly and knowledgable. Another great reason we are a Hydrex customer.

We've used Hydrex for our rental properties for several years and just recently had a major spider problem at our home. Decided to do the quarterly service & couldn't be happier. Our technician Josh is so professional, explained exactly what would happen at the initial treatment & follow ups, etc. We had a small jump in activity after the initial treatment (Josh cautioned this might happen), they immediately scheduled a follow up treatment at our convenience. Every person we've had contact with - from sales to scheduling, treatment & billing - has been friendly, professional. Highly recommend this company.

We have used Hydrex for many years and have always been pleased with the results. Our regular guy recently retired and was replaced by Josh. We really appreciated the manner in which Josh introduced himself to us and to our greyhounds. Since Josh lets himself into the backyard, he made sure that we are ok with that even if we are not at home. He then spent several minutes making friends and bonding with our dogs. Very professional and greatly appreciated.

Technician Brandon in charge of my house. Last week when ants attacked my house, he put some kind of ointment several spots of my house, and surprisingly thousands of ants were gone in an hour without any inside spray. Thank you Brandon.

Pest control tends to be a shady industry and Hydrex is at the highest level of shadiness. They make Hillary Clinton look like Mother Teresa. I saw another person mention in their review that Hydrex is "evil" and I find that an accurate assessment. Buyer beware. You have been warned. I pity the poor soul who hires Hydrex Pest Conrol first and checks the reviews as an afterthought
